English Theater Berlin

English Theatre Berlin is the center of English-language theatre in the German capital, presenting a wide spectrum of shows.  From plays to readings to performance art, both classic and contemporary, our aim is to reflect the development and tendencies of international theatre.  When you visit us, you are guaranteed to be confronted with artistic concepts of the highest niveau.

English Theatre Berlin was founded in 1990 under the name Friends of Italian Opera.The development from a multi-lingual space to Berlin’s only English-language theatre venue in 1993 was warmly accepted by the public and supported by the city of Berlin, who continues to support.

In addition to the support from the city of Berlin, ETB has built up very cooperative relationships with various English-speaking cultural and educational institutions in Germany, including the British Council, the American embassy and the Irish Arts Council.
